EQUO at ETSI/IQC Quantum Safe Cryptography Conference 2024

Members of the EQUO project contributed to the Quantum Safe Cryptography Conference held in Singapore from the 14th to 16th of May 2024 organised by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC).

One of the primary objectives of the EQUO project is to significantly advance technology towards the industrialization and deployment of components for the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI). Developing relevant standards is one of the major actions in achieving this objective in order to enable the interoperability, quality, and reliability of all network components.

In this framework, members of the EQUO project contributed to the Quantum Safe Cryptography Conference held in Singapore from the 14th to 16th of May 2024 organised by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC).

In recognition of the recent progress toward a cryptographically relevant quantum computer and the need to prepare for a transition to quantum secure technologies, the Conference focused on worldwide standardization efforts in sector. Representatives from companies, governments, and the academic community gathered to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration about cutting-edge cryptographic solutions coming out of business and recent research activities.

On the 15th of May, Davide Bacco, CTO at EQUO project’s partner QTI srl, contributed to the Conference session dedicated to QKD networks, presenting the latest implementations realised in Italy and neighbouring countries to both improve current quantum technology and integrate commercial QKD systems in standard telecommunication networks.
